My name is Cassandra. I designed this website to provide hope and inspiration to those whose beloved canine companion is suffering from a life threatening illness. In Chloe’s case, it was leukemia. This is her story of how we beat the odds through alternative therapies, love, faith & determination.
My husband, Adrian & I had only been seeing each other for 3 weeks when we were blessed with the opportunity to care for a friend's German Shepherd Sasha & her litter of 7, 3 day old cross breed pups.
Sasha had a beautiful, gentle temperament, however she was also quite a ‘wild child’ and we struggled to keep her contained to the yard & her motherly duties. In her place we would often bottle feed the pups until they were big enough for solid food. They felt more like our babies.

At 6 weeks old, the heartbreaking time came to find families for our little ones. I wished I could’ve kept all of them, however I did convince Adrian to keep 2.. Pokie & Sweet Pea, later to be named Jeremy & Chloe.

Our ‘Four Pack’ spent over 13 wonderful years together. Jeremy & Chloe filled our home with an abundance of love, fun & energy.
3 days before Christmas 2010, our Jeremy passed away at the age of 13. He became extremely sick on the Monday night and by Wednesday we had to say good-bye. He had cancerous tumours on his lungs, liver & spleen, and, although both he & Chloe had annual senior health checks at the vet, we had no idea until it was too late to do anything to help him.
After Jeremy’s death we spoilt Chloe ten-fold! For an already spoilt dog, we managed to lavish her with extra treats, cuddles & fun outings, in every effort to comfort her while the 3 of us mourned the great loss in our family. Our friends and family soon got the idea that if they wanted to see us, they’d have to include Chloe too!
